Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine

To provide an adequate information support to higher education policy development in Ukraine, a project aimed at building a search database providing information on higher educational institutions in this country was launched. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and is financially supported by the European Commission within the framework of BISTRO-TACIS Programme, French Cultural Centre in Ukraine, International Renaissance Foundation, European Centre for Educational Cooperation, UNDP, Centre for Innovation in International Educational Programmes "Incos" of the Institute of International Relations at Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University.

The project is targeted at assisting the Ukrainian education system to transform into the European one through the use of a search database of Ukrainian higher educational institutions with the help of Internet technologies.

The database is compiled in two languages: Ukrainian and English, which enables a prompt and handy context search for any higher educational institution in Ukraine, its addresses, training and programmes offered, names of persons in charge, etc.

The information available is updated on a continuous basis by Centre for Innovation in International Educational Programmes "Incos" of the Institute of International Relations at Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

When implemented, the project will promote democratisation processes on its way of integration into the European space and will ensure information support to the educational policy of Ukraine.

The database contains the information about 311 higher educational institutions (535 - including affiliated institutions).
